Dear City Person,
I have to catch up with work and will be visiting Greece this week so I decided to let you know that I will have to delay today’s planned post. I will thus be taking a short 2-week break from posting. I will publish my next post on April 18th in the evening hours Dubai time. As promised last week, the topic will be about how writing physical letters helped me adjust in my moves and connect with people.
If you have thoughts on this topic that you want to share, feel free to reply privately to this email or publicly on Substack by clicking on the button below.
In the meantime, I recommend that you use this time to catch up with any of my older posts that you may have missed by clicking here to access the archives. For those of you whose newsletters I follow, I will be making sure I set aside a day in the week to catch up with them so that I can engage with them more meaningfully (and perhaps feature them in my future posts here!).
I further want to use this opportunity to welcome my new subscribers! I have a few questions for you:
What had you interested in the newsletter?
What future topics would you like it to cover?
How do you define belonging?
What does belonging or the lack of it look like where you live?
If you have been subscribed for a while, thank you for your ongoing support! I also have questions for you:
What are you so far liking about the newsletter?
What would you like to see more of or less of in future posts?
Does a weekly frequency of posts feel ok to you or do you wish it were less or more frequent?
I am contemplating doing a voice-over of my future posts to improve accessibility and make them more personal, but I am feeling self conscious about it as my speaking voice is not always the same as my writing voice…would this interest you?
If you are new to my free weekly newsletter, Belonging Co-Lab, check out the About page linked here.

I do not expect that people will read or respond to all my posts as I get we all have different circumstances. At the same time, I wanted to end this entry by sharing how meaningful it has been for me to see how my posts inspired meaningful conversations with some of you over Substack comments, private emails, social media messages, and in-person conversation.
Even if I don’t hear from anyone, I am still loving how the act of writing each post motivates me to learn more about belonging and to embody what I’m learning. There’s still a long way to go but I’m loving the journey and I am grateful to have you accompanying me!
Enjoy your break Reema 💛
