Marc's letters to his newborn son. My favorite post so far is "Tell Them Where You're From" which blends the letter form with poetry. While it is written with such cross cultural specificity, I felt a sense of familiarity even as an outsider to Marc's cultural context. This post inspired Noha to write on the same topic in her substack Letters from a Muslim Woman which is also a favorite post of mine.
I love every post I read by Noha and always come out feeling inspired. While written from the perspective of a multigenerational immigrant Canadian Muslim woman, her posts are well loved by readers across diverse cultural, ethnic, and spiritual backgrounds. My favorite post is "Ask Me Where I'm From" which is a question many immigrants, people of color in white dominant societies, third culture kids, and those living in immigrant/expat dominant countries get asked.
I enjoy reading Lisa's insights on different models of belonging that she has observed in her travels across the US. I look forward to reading her book, The Practice of Belonging one day. My favorite post so far is "Practicing Reciprocity"
Brain's longform posts are packed with insights on belonging and bridging across differences (see Othering & Belonging Institute for more on what bridging is). I like that his authentic voice shines through his writings. I will likely be revisiting each post I read multiple times.
